Along with the coming of Multinational Companies (MNCs), the concept of travel inculcated in the corporate ambit. As these corporate organisations have multiple offices in different locations across the world, employees mobility have added corporate travel in the facility management managed by the HR Managers. These corporate travels have certain allocation in every quarter by higher management. Corporate travelling is also seen as a part of employee growth.
Darshana Kandalkar, Workplace Manager, LinkedIn talked about the expansion of frequent travelling in the corporate life and its significance in an employee life. She said, “We have a global travel partner but while conducting all the process when they find an issue we are there to assist them in every way.”
Like every sector and vertical, pandemic affected corporate travel too. Uday Bhatte, Real Estate Professional said that after covid even if the interaction is possible in the virtual mode, organisation is trying to push them for travel. Although, he has also mentioned as there are thousands of employees already on-ground so check & balance is one important task to perform.
The conversation also unveiled that every organisation has different kinds of travel patterns based on the location of their branches. Sharing the same aspect, Neelan Chhabra, Assistant Vice President – Facilities, Max Life Insurance said that the travel pattern in her organisation is done not only by air but also by trains and cab as thor branches are located in the remorse regions too.
She also mentioned that out of the total budget 40 per cent they are spending on hotels while the rest of it is being spent on travel mode. One important part that Chhabra mentioned is the developing SBT (Self Booking Tools) in order to empower and give commands to the employees.
Amit Panchal Executive Vice President, Kotak Mahindra Bank put forward the number of corporate travel in pre-covid, during covid and post covid time. Panchal accepted that it has doubled today comparatively to the time of pre-covid
Adding to the conversation, Major Aditi Mohan, Head Establishment, HR, India , Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages who also moderated the panel, touched upon the special travel needs arrangement for the specially abled people which is an important aspect of the inclusive policy.
