SMS Integrated Facility Services (SMS IFS) Private Limited, a Samara Capital company and one of India's leading integrated facilities management firms, has signed a Business Transfer Agreement with Awfis Space Solutions Limited (Awfis). As part of this agreement, SMS IFS will acquire Awfis' facility management division, Awfis Care, marking a significant milestone in SMS IFS’s growth strategy in the Indian facility services market.
SMS IFS manages over 5,000 sites for more than 500 clients across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities in India, employing over 21,000 personnel. The company offers a comprehensive range of services, including soft services, technical and managed services, and sustainability consulting, designed to optimise facility operations for property owners, operators, and occupants.
The acquisition of Awfis Care, which serves 2,500 clients and operates 175+ centres across 17 cities, adds over 3,000 skilled professionals to SMS IFS, significantly enhancing its operational capabilities. Awfis Care’s operations are certified under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and service.
Tarun Ramrakhiani, CEO of SMS IFS, highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition, particularly in the growing flexible office space sector. On the legal front, Stratage Law Partners acted as the legal counsel for SMS IFS, bringing commercial acumen, innovation, and a deal closure approach to the transaction. The legal team was led by Bhavin Gada (Senior Partner) and Mehak Gupta (Associate Partner).
